Step 1: Navigate to your Partner Dashboard

After logging into GiveGab.com, select your Giving Day beneath the "Your Giving Days" header on your personal dashboard.

Step 2: Select the Matches tab

Click the "Engagement Tools" dropdown on the sidebar, then choose the "Matches & Challenges" page.

Step 3: Create a new Challenge

Next, go to the "Challenges" tab and click the blue "+ Add Challenge" button.

Step 4: Add in basic Challenge details

After clicking "+ Add Challenge," you'll be directed to a form where you can enter specific details for your challenge.

a. Name Your Challenge

Here you’ll want to add the name of your challenge as it will appear to donors.

b. Add Challenge Description

To give your supporters more details about this specific challenge, you’ll want to add a description.

c. Set Challenge Amount

The challenge amount is how much money will be awarded when the challenge Goal is met. For example, if an additional $10,000 will be unlocked when the Giving Day reaches 1,000 donors, enter 10,000.

d. Add an Image

If the sponsor of your challenge has a photo or logo that they would like to feature, you can upload it here to be displayed along with your challenge. This section is optional, but to add a photo, click “Select Image” and click “Apply” once you’ve adjusted it.

*Tip: Disable adblockers on this page for the best image uploading experience.

e. Add Your Sponsor Name

Add in your Sponsor's Name how they would like to see it displayed. For example, if the challenge is sponsored by the board of your organization, you might enter Community Foundation Board of Directors. This name will not appear publicly unless the box next to "Display Sponsor Donor Name Publicly" is checked.

f. Add a Sponsor URL

If you would like to promote your sponsor and share a link to their website, you can add their website URL here.

g. Select the Applicable Time Zone

Select the timezone applicable to your organization.

h. Set Challenge Start Date

If your challenge has specific guidelines regarding when the donation must be made in order to count towards the challenge, you can select the starting time by clicking the box under “Select the time period applicable for this challenge” and selecting the date and time from the drop-down menu.

i. Set Challenge End Date

If there is a point where donations will no longer be counted towards the challenge, you can set the end date of the challenge by clicking the box under “Select the time period applicable for this challenge” and selecting the applicable date and time.

j. Select Challenge Type

Here you'll want to specify the type of challenge. A Dollar Challenge is fulfilled and an offline donation is created when a certain amount is raised. A Donor Challenge is fulfilled and an offline donation is created when a certain number of unique donors have given. A Donation Challenge is fulfilled and an offline donation is created when a certain number of qualifying donations have been made.

k. Set Challenge Goal

Once you've selected your challenge type, you'll need to enter the amount of dollars that need to be raised, donors that need to give, or donations that need to be made in order to unlock the challenge amount. For example, if $100,000 must be raised to unlock the challenge amount, enter 100,000. If 1,000 unique donors need to give in order to unlock the challenge amount, enter 1,000. If 500 donations are needed in order to unlock the challenge, enter 500.

l. Archive Challenge

Select this checkbox to mark this challenge as inactive and prevent it from being displayed in future fundraising.

Step 5: Set up Eligibility Rules (Optional)

If every donation to every organization and support area is eligible towards the challenge, then no additional action is necessary. However, you have the option to restrict your challenge to only certain donations, organizations, or support areas.

Restrict Challenge based on Donation Survey Response

To only count donations towards the challenge when the donor provides a specific response to a survey, use the Survey Choice IDs field to specify which answers are eligible. When entering multiple Survey Choice IDs, be sure to separate each ID with a comma. Your Project Manager or Coordinator will provide you with the list of Survey Choice IDs to choose from.

Restrict Challenge to Certain Organizations or Support Areas

If you'd like to restrict your challenge to only certain organizations or support areas, select the radio button for "Only chosen organizations and/or support areas are eligible for this match of challenge."

Within the Organization IDs and Support Area IDs fields, specify which organizations and/or support areas are eligible for the challenge. Organization IDs can be found under the GiveGab ID column on the Organizations tab of your Partner Dashboard. Support Area IDs can be found on the Support Areas tab of your Partner Dashboard under ID.

Step 6: Save your Challenge

Once you've entered all the necessary information for your challenge, be sure to save your changes by clicking the blue "Save" button.
