Note: This article is written for Giving Day hosts. If you are a participant or supporter of a Giving Day, this article may not pertain to your efforts.
When uploading single offline donations, there is an option to attribute the donation to a specific fundraiser, but this is only available if an organization is first selected. This article will walk you through how to attribute these for the first time, as well as how to edit a donation that has already been made.
Step 1: Navigate to your Partner Dashboard
Log in to www.givegab.com and navigate to your Partner Dashboard by clicking on your Giving Day.
Step 2: Navigate to the "Donations" Page
Select the "Donations" tab from the sidebar, then select "Donation Report" to navigate to the "Donations" page.
Step 3: Add Offline Donation
From there, click on the blue "Actions" button, and select "Add Offline Donation" from the dropdown that appears.
Step 4: Enter donation details
A form should appear on your screen, where you will enter the details of that offline gift. This form is the same that your nonprofits have available to enter their offline gifts (if you allow offline gifts for your Giving Day), except that you have an extra field for attributing to your select organization.
If you need assistance in filling out this form, please refer to our article on adding offline donations here.
The field that you'll want to pay close attention to would be "Apply to Organization (optional)", and the subsequent "Attribute to Fundraiser or Team".
If the donation needs to be uploaded to a Free Agent Fundraiser's page, then you will find them immediately under the "Attribute to Fundraiser or Team" field. If you need to attribute the offline donation to a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser's page, you will need to take an additional step.
Step 5: Edit the donation (Peer-to-Peer Fundraisers only)
If you've uploaded the offline donation with the intent of adding it to a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser's page, you'll need to edit the donation after you've added it. While on the Donations tab of your dashboard, click on the pencil icon of the newly added offline donation.
After clicking on the pencil icon, you will be brought to the edit page for the donation. Here, there are two fields to pay close attention to, "Attribute to Campaign", and "Attribute to a Fundraiser or Team". The first field should automatically populate with the name of your Giving Day.
Note: If your Giving Day is not automatically listed as the Campaign, you'll need to change it, save the donation, then refresh the page before continuing.
Once you've confirmed that the Campaign is correct, you will be able to find the Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser listed in the "Attribute to a Fundraiser or Team" dropdown. Select the fundraiser of your choice, and click save.
Note: Offline donations cannot be reattributed to Free Agent Fundraisers through this menu, if you need to reattribute an offline donation to one, you'll need to first delete the donation and remake it.
