Note: This article is written for Giving Day hosts. If you are a participant or supporter of a Giving Day, this article may not pertain to your efforts.

Step 1: Navigate to your Partner Dashboard

After logging into GiveGab.com, select your Giving Day beneath the "Your Giving Days" header on your personal dashboard.

Step 2: Navigate to the "Matches & Challenges" page

Select the "Engagement Tools" dropdown to reveal additional pages from the sidebar, then select "Matches & Challenges".

Step 3: Create a new Match

From the "Matches & Challenges" page, select the blue "+ Add Match" button.

Step 4: Add in basic Match details

After clicking the "+ Add Match Commitment" button, you'll be taken to the form below to enter the specific details of your match.

a. Add a Sponsor Logo

If the sponsor of your match has a photo or logo that you/they would like to feature, you can upload that here to be displayed along with your match. This section is optional. To add a photo, click “Select Image” and then click “Apply” once you’ve adjusted it.

b. Add Your Sponsor Name

To display the name of your match sponsor, fill in this section with how they would like to be recognized for their sponsorship. Select the checkbox if you would like to display the sponsor donor name publicly.

c. Add a Sponsor URL

If you would like to promote your sponsor and share a link to their website, you can add their website URL here.

d. Name Your Match

Here you’ll want to add the name of your match as it will appear to donors. So if you’re promoting your matching challenge to your supporters, make sure to add that title here.

e. Add Match Description

To give your supporters more details about this specific match, you’ll want to add a description. Here you can let your supporters know how much their gift will be matched by as well as any other info you want to include about this opportunity.

f. Set Available Matching Funds

Here you’ll want to input the total amount of funds available for this specific match.

g. Set Maximum Match per Individual Donation

If there is a maximum match amount per individual donation you can set that number under the box that says “Maximum Match per Individual Donation”. If someone makes a donation greater than this amount, it will only match up to the maximum you set.

h. Set Match Start Date

If your match has specific guidelines regarding when the donation must be made in order to receive a match, you can select the starting time of when the match should apply by clicking the box under “Donation Matching Start Time” and selecting the date and time from the drop-down menu.

i. Set Match End Date

If there is a point where donations will no longer be counted towards matching funds, you can set the end date of the match by clicking the box under “Donation Matching End Time” and selecting the date and time you want the match to end from the drop-down.

j. Enable Auto-Matching

Here you have the option to enable automatic matches to all of your donations that you receive for the Giving Day. When you check this box, an offline donation equal to the donation amount (or up to the maximum match per individual donation set) will be created automatically so the match amount is also shown on your Giving Day profile and will count towards your totals. We recommend enabling auto-matching. Note that the auto-matching feature only matches donations on a 1:1 ratio.

Step 5: Set up Eligibility Rules (Optional)

If every donation to every organization and support area is eligible to be matched, then no additional action is necessary. However, you have the option to restrict your match to only certain donations, organizations, or support areas.

Restrict Match based on Donation Survey Response

To only match donations where the donor provided a specific response to a survey, use the Survey Choice IDs field to specify which answers are eligible for the match. When entering multiple Survey Choice IDs, be sure to separate each ID with a comma. Your Project Manager or Coordinator will provide you with the list of Survey Choice IDs to choose from.

Restrict Match to Certain Organizations or Support Areas

If you'd like to restrict your match to only certain organizations or support areas, select the radio button for "Only chosen organizations and/or support areas are eligible for this match of challenge."

Within the Organization IDs and Support Area IDs fields, specify which organizations and/or support areas are eligible for the match. Organization IDs can be found under the GiveGab ID column on the Organizations tab of your Partner Dashboard. Support Area IDs can be found on the Support Areas tab of your Partner Dashboard under ID.

Step 6: Save your Match

Once you've entered all the necessary information for your match, be sure to save your changes by clicking the blue "Save" button.
