Understanding Google Analytics

  • Users: Individual users and visitors on a site

  • Sessions: Visit to Giving Day site by a user

  • Bounce Rate: Clicking through to different pages

  • Pages/session: How many pages a user navigated to in a single session

  • Average Session Duration: Average time spent on the site

  • E-Commerce conversion rate: % of sessions resulting in transactions

  • Transactions: Number of transactions processed

  • Revenue: Estimated revenue from source

*Note: Metrics above are defined by Google’s standards. For instance, a user on GA is not a unique user on GG.
