Step 1: Locate an Organization of Your Choice
Click on "Search..." in the upper middle of the page and search for an organization, or click the "Donate" button in the middle of the page to be brought to a list of all of the organizations participating in a Giving Day.
Step 2: Start the Donation
From the organization's profile on the Giving Day website, click on the "Donate" button, "Choose Your Own Amount" button, or any of the tiered options to make a donation of your choice.
Note: Choosing a tiered option will pre-fill the intended donation amount, and will notify the organization of what you wish for your donation to go towards.
Step 3: Make a Donation to One or More Organizations of Your Choosing
After selecting one of the donation methods, you will be asked if you want to:
(a) Adjust your donation amount.
(b) Search for additional fundraising campaign names
(c) Add a Fundraiser
(d) Enter the display name for the donation
(e) Indicate whether or not you are a first time donor for the organization
(f) Choose whether or not you'd like to make this a recurring donation
(g) Make this donation in honor or in memory of someone.
(h) Add a public message to this donation.
(i) Add another organization.
After customizing your donation, click the "Next" button to proceed to the next step.
Step 4: Select Your Payment Method
From the "Payment Method" section, select the "Bank Account" option.
Note: The "Bank Account" option will only populate if your gift meets a specific donation minimum amount. For more information about the donation minimum amount, please see the FAQs associated with the Giving Day to which you are making your gift. This option is available on a site-by-site basis, and may not be available for your Giving day.
Step 5: Confirm your information
Enter your first name, last name, email address, and mailing address.
Note: Your email address is required so we can send you a tax-deductible receipt.
Note: If you're not located in the U.S., you will be able to select another country from the "Country" dropdown box, and you'll be able to continue the donation process from there.
Step 5: Confirm Your Gift
Review your information to ensure that it is accurate. You will also have the option of covering the associated fees that will be incurred to the organization. Once you are sure the information is accurate, click the "Submit" button.
Step 6: Enter Your Bank Account Credentials
Click the "Continue" button to proceed, then select your bank from the listing. In the text fields, enter in your bank account user ID and password to proceed.
Note: Plaid supports over 1,700 financial institutions, which means you can search from more than 1,700 financial institutions to find the bank of your choice.
Step 7: Select Your Account
Choose the account (such as checking or savings) from which you would like to make your donation, then click the "Continue" button. Your donation will be automatically processed after clicking the "Continue" button.
Step 8: Receive Your Receipt
Once the donation is completed, you will receive one receipt in your email inbox for every organization to which you made a gift.
