Setting up registration for your Giving Day is a key step in preparing participating organizations for success. Using your Partner Dashboard, you can customize the registration process - collecting important information, setting deadlines, and tailoring forms to align with your goals. A clear and streamlined registration experience ensures participating organizations are properly onboarded and equipped with the tools they need to make the most of the big day!

Step 1: Navigate to your 'Registration Setup'

From your Partner Dashboard, click to expand the 'Manage Areas' tab on the left navigation panel. Then, select 'Registration Setup'.

Step 2: Begin setup

You may choose to enable your Registration Form using the checkbox near the top of the page. However, we recommend waiting until after you complete setup.

Optionally, you can include a registration 'Welcome' message, which will appear to registrants when they start the registration process.

Click to expand each section below for additional guidance on each step!

Step 3: Select or add a Registration Type

Here, you can provide options to allow registrants to identify themselves and enforce tiered pricing based on this identification. For example, by naming registration types based on the number of employees in an area, you can charge smaller areas a smaller registration fee.

Note: Editing a registration type already in use will carry any new changes into all reporting. This cannot be undone!

If you need to delete Registration Types that have already been used, contact our Customer Success team.

Step 4 (OPTIONAL): Add a Registration Coupon

If you offer a discounted registration fee to certain organizations, you can add a unique code here to share with them. Click the 'Add Code' button.

This will prompt a form to appear, where you can add a custom Coupon Code and fee. Be sure to click the 'Save' button when you are finished.

Step 5: Create your Registration Survey

Click the 'Create Registration Survey' button to customize your registration form.

You can use the options, highlighted in the screenshot below, to build your form.

Note: Going forward, a message will appear indicating your Giving Day has a registration survey regardless of whether or not you added any questions after clicking the 'Create Registration Survey' button.

Step 6: Add a section for documents

If you will be requesting specific documentation from registrants, include more details about what they should upload and indicate if it is required to submit the form.

Step 7: Configure additional settings

Additional settings to manage include:

  • Allow organizations to submit their state charitable ID after registration

If your state requires a group charitable ID on your online fundraising forms, enable this setting so that your participating organizations will be prompted to enter their ID during their bank account setup process. Learn more about state charitable soliciation compliance.

  • Restrict registration search to past giving day participants within the giving day breed

This will limit searchable organizations to those that participated in previous Giving Days.

Step 8: Build out your Registration Communications

In this section, you can craft a greeting that registrants will receive in their e-mail confirmation.

You will also have the option to require organizations to be approved to participate in your Giving Day. Selecting this option will allow you to manually approve registrants. Organizations will not appear publicly on your Giving Day site until their status has been approved.

If you select this option, additional tabs will appear where you can configure the email and administrative dashboard messages that organization admins will see based on their approval status. Click to expand each tab and add custom copy for each status: 'Pending', 'Needs Further Review', 'Approved', and 'Ineligible'.

Step 9: Set a Registration Postal Code Fence

A Registration Postal Code Fence allows you to set location criteria for which organizations can register to participate. You can import a list of postal codes, so only organizations whose postal codes match those in your list can register for your Giving Day.

To set the postal code fence, upload a .csv file with one column containing all postal codes, one postal code per row.

To add more postal codes and expand your "fence", upload a new .csv file with your additional codes. It will not replace or undo your existing fence, but will add more eligible postal codes instead.

Pro Tip: When returning organizations cannot find themselves in your Registration Search, this can often be why! The zip code on their profile falls outside of your "fence". Add their postal code, refresh, and they should then find themselves in your search!
